As
Head of Modern Languages, I developed
the integration of Art (the visual) with the teaching
of language. We also made extensive use of learning
through doing (the Froebel method).
I studied the psychology
of learning as a major element of my academic qualifications,
and I am enjoying putting it into practice (hence the
ALLS emphasis on developing in students a new self-confidence
and self-esteem, centred on the successful acquisition
of language learning skills).
When I came across “Accelerated
Learning” some years ago, I realised
that this method encompassed
all the features that I had found to be most successful
in helping people to learn languages effectively. For
example we used, amongst other things, colour
coding, visualisation, relaxation and music. Conventional
teaching methods were also used.
The marriage of the two
has repeatedly proved to provide corporate staff and
private students with an effective winning formula,
that addresses all learning styles/preferences. It is
my greatest satisfaction to see others develop their
potential to succeed. |
